This is a great companion novel to The Pearl That Broke Its Shell. This might be a spoiler, I wasn't reading too carefully, but this is told from the point-of-view of Rahim/a's best friend when she was a bacha posh, Obayd/a. But it's just that, a companion story, it doesn't add very much just goes into more detail about what its like actually being a bacha posh.
