Everything I Never Told You by Celeste NgMy rating: 3 of 5 stars
The beginning of this book was everything that made me put A Tree Grows in Brooklyn down after 150 pages, really slow with nothing exciting happening. I almost wanted to put it down too but I trudged on.
I'm glad I did. It was slow and I had a hard time paying attention at times but it dealt with things like racism and sexism. You got to see the seedy underbelly of a seemingly normal family (every family has secrets).
