The Abbot's Tale by Conn IgguldenMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
I would normally give a book like this a rating of 3 or 3.5. There were moments when I was just reading to read and not because I was enjoying it. I don't even remember these parts. Dunstan talked a lot about his work and that was a bore.
I found the language incredibly beautiful though. Dunstan is basically writing an autobiography. He writes with the dignity of a man late in his years looking back at his life. However, there are moments when this dignity is dropped and you can tell he is reliving the moment. Particularly when he is talking about his adolescent urges and the battle.
